II International Music Competition

St. Blasien 2017

The Competition will take place at the same time, during the International Festival MUSIC ISLAND St. Blasien 2017. This competition's aim is to promote participants of the master classes in St. Blasien and other young musicians (age limit: 35). Musicians from all over the world are welcome. The highly competent and independent jury consists of the master classes' faculty members. Participation in the competition brings international attention to the young musicians, especially from the competition's organisers. The competition is open for violin, viola, cello and piano players.
The College of St. Blasien provides warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The competition will take place on April 21st & 22nd 2017. The program is a piece of free choice, up to 15 minutes long. The auditions will take place on April 21st 2017, 10:00 a.m. An accompanist will be provided by the competition. A maximum of 6 participants are allowed in the second round. The second round - final - will take place on April 22nd, 2017, the result will be determined by the audience. The winners will be announced immediately and the prizes will be awarded. There is no application fee for the master classes participants, for all others the application fee is € 100.

Competition regulations

  • The International Music Competition will take place from April 21 to 22, 2017 in the Festsaal of the College of St. Blasien and consists of two rounds.
  • Violinists, violists, cellists and pianists of all nationalities are admitted to the competition.
  • The age limit is 35 years (born after 22 April 1981).
  • Deadline for the registration is February 28, 2017.
  • Non-participants of the master classes at the international music festival "Music Island" pay a registration fee of € 100 per participant.
  • Program: a piece of choice approx. 15 min. long
